Thank you for visiting the official website of Life Ministries, which now operates under the umbrella of First Baptist Church of Elm Mott, TX. We began as more of an outdoor preaching/evangelism ministry to reach people in different communities who might not otherwise set foot inside a church house, to let them know Jesus Christ will meet them right where they are and that you don't have to "clean yourself up" first before you come to Jesus. We wanted to help churches minister to their own communities and to bring the lost into the fold by first meeting them out where they are, where they wouldn't feel criticized or judged. However, our evangelism efforts have been modified a bit as of December 2009. We began to feel led to do more about those in true physical need as well as spiritual so that they might experience firsthand, and not just hear about, the love of Jesus Christ through us His people.

Our goal is still to bring lost souls to an understanding and acceptance of the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and to help churches reach the lost in and minister to their own communities. However, we feel that this is best done, basically, the way Jesus did it—we may not be able to feed 5,000-plus people with a couple fish and a few loaves before we preach to them, but we can certainly put donations to good use, feeding the hungry and providing nonperishables and non-food items, toiletries, etc., to those in need. In fact, we are hoping to one day expand that to include such services as providing transportation in our area, helping people look for jobs, helping them apply for other types of assistance that are already in place, directing them to different medical and mental health services, etc. For now we simply provide a couple of boxes of goods at a time to families in need as we hear about them, food and toiletries, about a week's worth of groceries, and we place a Bible and gospel literature in one of the boxes for each family.

We are still available for outdoor evangelism crusades, revivals, charity fundraisers—alone or in conjunction with other groups—and just about anywhere else you could imagine we would be useful toward our goal of reaching people for Christ. However, though we used to focus more on outdoor crusades, we will probably be doing more preaching and singing within the churches now and making people aware of this ministry so that we can raise the funds to buy the groceries and such for the boxes (As a side note, none of our members are, or have ever been, paid by this ministry—as a matter of fact, a huge part of our ministry is self-supported by its members when we do not receive enough outside donations.).

We would like to thank the generous contributors in our own home churches, Navarro Mills Baptist and FBC of Elm Mott, as we were able to combine that with money we had raised/donated ourselves into our bank account over the past year to help over a dozen families during this past Christmas holiday as well as helped another church restock their cupboard for the needy. However, we do not want this to be a once-a-year endeavor, only helping people during the holidays. Therefore, we are constantly looking for churches, ministries, Christian organizations, etc., who could use our music and/or preaching for any event that will glorify our Lord Jesus Christ, and we appreciate any time we are given a love offering of some sort to help buy the groceries and support this ministry. However, we do NOT charge any set fee for our services.

The Bible says, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways, acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6) Contact Life Ministries if you feel He has led your path across ours for a reason—that we may serve together. Thank you.

In Christ's service,

P.S. We would like to recognize a young man (10 years of age) who has been generously donating his birthday presents to various toy drives and charities over the years of his own free will instead of keeping them for himself. As a matter of fact, he tells his friends ahead of time to bring an unwrapped gift to his birthday party that will be donated. So he is also teaching other children about the joy of giving and helping someone less fortunate. So be sure and visit our pics/videos page to see a picture of this little man with just a portion of what he gave to Life Ministries this past Christmas that we were able to put in the boxes for families with children. What an inspiration!
